Joanne Cabello is a seasoned, accomplished fitness professional with extensive experience as a Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor and competitive athlete. A twenty year industry veteran, she has held many national certifications including USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach and the Functional Movement Screens credential. In particular, Joanne's study of Muscle Activation Techniques and the Resistance Training Specialist program have served as a foundation for her strong working knowledge of functional anatomy and physics. Joanne has been widely recognized for her expertise as a technician with proficiency in movement pattern analysis, post rehabilitation exercise design and strength and conditioning programming. In her role as Specialist at Clay, her no nonsense approach has garnered a loyal following.
Joanne's passion for fitness and performance extends far beyond her professional world. She is a former competitive gymnast, classically trained dancer and currently a USA Cycling road racer competing for Team Houlihan Lokey, one NYC's premier amateur cycling teams. This broad base of experience enables Joanne to connect with and inspire a wide variety of clients, from young athletes to senior citizens. She is at her best when "in the gym." As an athlete, Joanne stresses the importance of setting specific goals. She believes having a goal, no matter how big or small, defines the specificity of the training process. Joanne is dedicated to working with her clients to achieve their goals by optimizing strength, performance and functionality.
Joanne is in the process of acquiring the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is also currently studying the prestigious Starting Strength method and the Strongfirst SFG1 Kettlebell program.
