Transform yourself...with Group Fitness at CLAY.
CLAY's programming is based on our philosophy of combining physical training with mindful exercise. Members are encouraged to integrate a variety of classes into their routine for optimal results.
- Conditioning
- CLAY Core (30 minutes) and CLAY Core Plus (45 minutes).
Improve balance and posture, strengthenyour abdominals and trim your waistline.
These classes integrate modern training techniques with good ol’
traditional abdominal work to improve the functionality and look of your
core.
- Clay Sculpt. This total body conditioning class
utilizes body bars, dumbbells, tubing and step benches. Classic functional
moves will help you become stronger, leaner and more energized.
- Sculpt and Stretch. Similar to the Clay Sculpt
class, we add an extra component of flexibility for those who want more
flexibility training.
- CardioBox. This cardio/conditioning workout
features an easy to follow, thirty minute shadow box routine followed
by a thirty minute conditioning segment using jump ropes, light weights,
plyometric and stretch routines.
- Boxers' Sculpt. This class incorporates punch
routines with standing bags, followed by a high-energy sculpting workout
utilizing weights and body bars.
- BodyWedge Workout. This class adds the new
dimension of BodyWedge 21®, a new tool in the workout world. The
BodyWedge is a soft, upholstered wedge with many applications such as
an incline for bench presses, a balance tool and a prop for core stabilization
training. Starting with a cardio segment, you'll get a total body workout.
- Flexibility. Instructors lead participants
through a challenging routine that promotes proper range of motion and
can help improve posture.
- Clay Power Moves. Improve muscular strength
and endurance while challenging your balance and agility. Instructors
offer rhythmic routines that promise to elevate heart rate and burn calories.
Each class ends with core and stretching routines to cool you down and
increase your body awareness.
- Cycling
- Train on the most comfortable and desirable cycling bikes on the market
- The Tomahawk. This class is appropriate for members of all levels, from
recreational cyclists to competitive racers. Members are encouraged to
train at their own pace.
- Dance
- Beyond Funk.
Dance! Dance! Dance! This class created by Amy Jordan is more than just a dance workout. It builds strength, cardio and endurance while connecting with the essence of power and the joy of movement. Fun for all Levels.
- Masala Bhangra®.
Sarina Jain has combined influences from her Indian heritage with 14 years experience in the U.S. fitness industry to create an exotic and unique high-energy calorie-burning cultural dance experience, that will utilize all the muscles in your body. Traditional dhol beats set the tone for the warm up and breaking down the moves, and popular bhangra tracks are used for the bhangra jam - where you'll be sure to get a full body workout!
- Yoga
- Yoga Fundamentals. will prepare you to enter
into any of the other expressions of yoga we have at CLAY. Learn the fundamentals
of postures and alignment.
- Hatha. The most gentle and traditional yoga.
You will learn the fundamentals which will prepare you for more advanced
yoga.
- Anusara. Emanates energy from the heart while
utilizing principles of alignment and energetic action.
- Vinyasa. An invigorating class with postures
that flow from one to the next.
- Kundalini Yoga. Utilizes the Hatha yogic technology to stretch and tone the physical body while it’s specific focus on breath and chanting help to balance the glandular and nervous systems.
- Astanga. This is the most challenging yoga.
Astanga utilizes breath control, isometrics and focused gazing with an
uninterrupted flow of traditional postures.
- Restorative Yoga. This class enhances your
active yoga practice as well as help you manage your stress. Restorative
Yoga emphasizes 'active' relaxation, alternating calm movement and stillness.
- Pilates
- Pilates Mat. This class focuses on precise
concentrated movement to promote a strong core. Pilates enhances alignment,
flexibility, symmetry and coordination. Most of our Pilates mat instructors
are available for private instruction on the Pilates equipment.
- Semi-Private Pilates.* CLAY also offers a Pilates
Reformer/Mat class and a Pilates Tower class. One private Pilates session
is required before taking the Reformer/Mat class. Please inquire at the
front desk for day and time of these classes.
- Semi-Private Reformer Class.* The Reformer provides a
full-body workout. You will work through a choreographed routine of challenging
movements, to strengthen, stretch and lengthen your body. Classes are
limited to four participants and are $30 per class. Reservations are required.
- Semi-Private Tower Class.* All exercises are performed
on a special apparatus called the Tower. This class is a great introduction
to the Pilates equipment. Classes are limited to four participants and
are$30 per class. Reservations are required.
- Custom Semi-Private Pilates.* Create a customized semi-private pilates class that fits group's schedule. Please contact the frontdesk for details or to book your group. 212-206-9200
